ROCK AGAINST DIABETES ANNOUNCES NEXT SHOW - OCT 25, 2008 IN LAS VEGAS ROCK AGAINST DIABETES and DIMEBAG DARRELL ESTATES Join Forces in the Fight ROCK AGAINST DIABETES presents THE DIMEBAG DARRELL STAGE HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 3, 2008) – Rock Against Diabetes is proud to announce a second event featuring the Dimebag Darrell Stage on October 25th, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. The union came from discussions about the events being held for Rock Against Diabetes with Rita Haney-Abbott, Dimebag Darrell’s widow. Haney-Abbotts very close to this disease in her private life as her grandmother is diabetic and recently her father Howell Haney was diagnosed last year as a diabetic. “Once my father became diabetic that is when I learned that diabetes can kill if not dealt with properly,” states Rita Haney Abbott. “I feel that this is a cause that we want to support. I know Dimebag would have been there to support a cause that can help, for he was very close to my father & would have done anything for him & vice versa. Dime always had a good heart that was unconditional in giving to many, not just his family.” Rock Against Diabetes is an ongoing concert series and fundraising program with the goal of providing information and support to diabetics and people concerned about the disease worldwide. A main directive is to attempt to avoid asking the public for donations, but to offer great entertainment and unique fundraising experiences through music to raise funds that are needed to provide some new ground breaking support for diabetics. The Dimebag Darrell stage line-up is yet to be determined and will be announced in the next month along with the sponsors that support this great charity event. The judges will have these bands selected by July 7th, and voting will be opened by the public until July 17th, and a finalist announced on July 20th. That should give the winner the time needed to make preparations to attend the show. The winner will be decided partly by public vote, with the final decision coming from our panel of 5 judges, based on their criteria keeping the public opinion in mind. Good Luck, and have fun! 		RICHIE KOTZEN Touted as “one of the best guitar players in the world,  a voice on par with some of the greatest rock/soul singers and creative songwriting, Richie Kotzen has had an incredible journey in the world of music. In 2006 as a solo artist, Kotzen was the opening act for the legendary Rolling Stones A Bigger Bang Tour in Japan.  It all started at the age of seven when Richie learned to play the electric guitar in his hometown of Reading, PA. He formed his first band at the age of twelve and played live gigs around PA, Delaware and New Jersey. 		LA GUNS L.A. Guns started in 1982 as a straight up dirty ass rock n roll band. The band was put together by Tracii Guns in his last year of high school. The band has had some notable members such as Axl Rose, Phillip Lewis and Jizzy Pearl, but continues today with band members Marty Casey (the Singer) Jeremy Guns (the Bass Player) Chad Stewart (the Drummer), and of course Tracii Guns (the Guitarist).
